Our aim is to help equip our members with suitable and affordable housing, clean water, heating and decent living conditions for themselves and their families.

A function of Land Councils under the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Rights Act is to provide housing for Aboriginal people in their area.

The aim of Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council ’s Property Unit is to help equip our members with suitable and affordable housing, clean water, heating and decent living conditions for themselves and their families.

This service is only for current members of the Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council politan LALC

Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  currently houses over 27 tenants in the Sydney Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council politan area. The Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council manages housing stock of 8 homes located in Queanbeyan.

These houses were transferred to the LALCs through the ALRA and now defunct Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission. Historically the Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council signed the Head Lease with the New South Wales Aboriginal Housing Organisation on 15 December 2012 at a duly constituted Members meeting.

e are striving to grow our housing base through future developments. For Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council ’s members the provision of suitable and affordable housing is the number one need.

The Property Unit is responsible for the management and maintenance of Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  residential and business properties. Our Housing Officer looks after all of Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council ’s houses and properties ensuring they are kept in the best condition, protecting the assets of Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  and giving our members and their families a decent standard of living.

Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  is currently working on a Home Ownership Scheme to provide long term generational benefits to its members. Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  has investigated and developed possible future options for the Scheme and is awaiting amendments to the Land Rights Act so that it can put these in place. Home Ownership is crucial to the self-determination of Aboriginal people. By providing the option of Home Ownership to its members, Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council  will be able to provide an opportunity never before available to many Aboriginal families.

For all current and future tenants of Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council politan Local Aboriginal Land Council houses, you are required to update your housing application every 6 months.
