Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council will as opportunities grow and expand provide opportunites for employment for members and Aboriginal community has we implement our Community Land and Business Plan.
Future services and programs will provide support to our Elders and children in various areas of provision.
Sport and Cultural activities are planned under our Community Land and Business Plan, will be realised as our memebrship decide on the bext utilisation of assetts acquired under the ABoriginal Land Rights provisions.
As part of its commitment to the Aboriginal people of NSW and to fulfill its legislative commitments to provide community benefits to members of Local Aboriginal Land Councils and the wider Aboriginal community, the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council offers land council members, and Aboriginal people resident in New South Wales the ability to seek limited financial grants under a Funeral Benefits Scheme.
NSWALC has also determined that any NSW Aboriginal person who was not a member of a Funeral Fund is entitled to a funeral grant of up to $1000 to assist with covering the funeral costs.
Grants are paid directly to funeral service providers under this community benefits scheme.
This grant scheme is operated under strict criteria.
Confirmation of Aboriginality to the Ngambri LALC must be provided.
Application forms for assistance are available at the Ngambri Local Aboriginal Land Council and must be directed to the CEO on the number listed on this website.
Ngambri Council of Elders operates from Munjuwa Queanbeyan Health Housing and Community Services building in Queanbeyan. Our Elders are patrons for various organisations both Indigenous and Non Indigenous.
